Kazakhstan? Are you serious? Who gets to worry about calling when you’re focused on just surviving? (Heirarchy of needs and all that) Guess they are further along than I thought.
As is true for many people in the world. That’s why it’s important to understand that our calling is to simply let the people in our world experience the glory (splendor, brilliance, weightiness, strength, beauty) of our life, which you can do anywhere under any circumstance, vs. a job or position.
just got back from the retreat. loved it
Talking to my daughter yesterday driving home from Lansing. She is not enjoying her nursing job in chicago. Sharing with her that her “compassion” was where she best revealed the character of God with her “Story…Desires…and Journey. Whether she was a nurse…or not.
Well, she became “alert and oriented X’s three.” Thanks guys. Thanks Gary. Thanks to all the men at “Hearts Alive and Free”. [u r all Translucent…i mean transcendent… Maybe both..lol
Exactly so, Gary. I didn’t have categories for all of this back when I lived in Haiti, but regardless of circumstance, we all have needs, wants, passions, and a glory.
Of course, it often takes some adjustment of focus to be able to appreciate what people from another culture are going through, and what they’re capable of. For me, this was largely an exercise in letting go of pride and latent cultural arrogance.
Thanks for bringing clarity, once again, Gary.
Can’t wait for the intensive in VA, whenever that’s going to be…
I so envy your trip to Kazakhstan, never been there but I have been to Ukraine and Crimea several times. People from the same mold, with similar history and trials. The believers love so amazingly. Some language issues but they try English and their eyes and expressions betray their deep love for all the efforts at sharing our King. You will love them and they you.
I’m anxious to hear the stories, and don’t leave out the “bathroom adventures”.
Jerry, I hope we get to have some of these type adventures together soon. As far as the “bathroom adventures”, you’ll have to experience those without me and if I get hoisted into one of those “adventures”, I won’t be blogging about it. Gary
