Thanks for being one of those guys for me. It has been foggy lately. I think I’ll read my journals. Love you brother!
Foggy, clouded over right now. Yep. Read your journal. Yep. And “all I have told you remains true”. Right. But it got foggy and clouded over… ah, and I forgot. Again. Great reminder, Gary, thanks.
Mike, you said to Gary: “Thanks for being one of those guys for me”. And he is, for many. But here is the thought that grabbed me. YOU are one of those guys too. Thanks for that. You (Gary too) are a walkin’ talkin’ Journal. Both of you are there… for a lot of guys. Thanks to both of you. Love you both.
I can’t tell you how bummed I am that you cut your hair. Check your journal, I’m sure you weren’t supposed to do that!
Amen Gary, great words. My wife used to talk about ‘thin spots’ with God where you experience his glory. Holding on to them as anchors for the ‘thick spots’ where we feel far away. But just appreciate what you end with…having folks in your life who know your story and glory, and can…anchor you. Such a joy to be walking with you brother, great spending time together today.
gary,
i LOVE these video blogs, pearls , short glimpses of perspective for me to ponder. thank you, keep it up!!!

Thanks man. i’m going to pull out my journal right this moment and get some refreshment on some “old” clarity. i really enjoy you keeping in touch this way..video and all.
Hey, thanks, from within the fog bank!
It’s a good and timely word!
Gary, what a geneous way to get the idea across, using that setting/backdrop. It’s so true: returning to what God has said (and writing it down) is so helpful. I don’t journal daily, but when God reveals something I know I’m going to need to remember, I write it down – even if on a post-it or scap of paper. Later, I can enter it into my journal. Right now, I’m staring at 7 years-worth of journals and combing through them to see the patterns in my story. Thanks again, Gary!
Great reminder of the importance of journaling. That’s an area where I definitely have room for improvement.
Just brilliant Gary! LOVE the metaphor and setting you chose. I’ll be reading the map of past journey and words……blessings, good man.
Great stuff Gary! I love the moments of clarity….but need to work on making it through those ‘foggy’ times as well. My journals definitely help me to see how God is pursuing me…changing me….revealing His glory in me – even when I don’t ‘feel’ it at times.
Keep up the great work Gary!
Great reminder to journal. I never saw the value of it until after the bootcamp trip when I started journaling for the 1st time in my life. I am 46 and wish I had started earlier.
Gary,
What a beautiful example of not being able to see something right in front of you, even though it’s huge and you know it’s there!
So often people overlook what is so obvious to others…husbands and wives to that to each other, and we do it to ourselves when we work on defining our strengths and purpose.
Thanks for the great post!
James
